Sarah Bush Lincoln Sullivan Clinic Family Physician Matthew Dorner, MD, recently completed a fellowship in

Integrative Medicine. Integrative medicine is healing-oriented and makes use of conventional and alternative or complementary therapies as appropriate, including all aspects of lifestyle (mind, body, and spirit). It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative.

Dr. Dorner completed this 1,000-hour two-year fellowship through the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. Launched in 1997 by integrative medicine pioneer Andrew Weil, MD, the fellowship in integrative medicine is for physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Dr.

Dorner said, “I think preventive care and chronic illness is best viewed through the lens of an integrative practitioner. I look forward to helping those seeking an integrative approach to health. Whether a person is just interested in finding out if a supplement will interact with a current prescription medication or finding ways to help reduce stress or discussing nutrition, I am excited to share what I have learned. I am eager to help those who want to be proactive about their health and seek change.”
