New parents, seasoned parents, expectant parents... even grandparents will want to mark their calendars for this! Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Women and Children’s Center is hosting Bumps, Burps and Giggles, a Baby and Children’s Fair, from 11 am to 2 pm Sunday, June 7, in the Lumpkin Family Center for Health Education. The Baby Fair is free and open to the general public.
The baby fair will give current and future parents the chance to gather vital information from area agencies and Sarah Bush Lincoln programs and services. Parents and children can also take advantage of various activities throughout the day, including a four-on-the-floor crawling contest. Each booth will have a free raffle prize and the fair will have a grand prize of a beautiful baby bedroom, which includes and a full-size baby crib with mattress and bedding, and dresser. Additional prizes, including a Pack-n-Play, and refreshments also will be available.
If you love to share your favorite baby pictures, then we’ve got a treat for you – a Beautiful Baby Photo Contest for children from newborn to 5 years old. Your baby’s photo will be displayed during the Sarah Bush Lincoln baby fair. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite baby by dropping coins into a container with each baby’s assigned number attached. All proceeds will go toward supporting SBL’s Oh, Baby! prenatal education program.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: newborn to six months, seven to18 months, 19 months to three years and three years, one month to five years. Winners will be notified within three working days and will be posted on Sarah Bush Lincoln’s website. Participants do not need to be present to win.
Photos can be emailed to [email protected]. Please include the baby’s first and last name, parents first and last name(s), home address, phone number, baby’s date of birth and age at time of photo. Photos can also be sent it to Baby Photo Contest c/o Women and Children’s Center, Sarah Bush Lincoln, 1000 Health Center Drive, Mattoon, IL 61938. They should not larger than 5x7 and all information should be written on the back. Photos are not guaranteed to be returned. The deadline to submit photos is May 30.
