Healthcare Marketplace Closes Soon

March 6, 2014 10:54 a.m.

People looking for health insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act in the Marketplace have until the end of March to purchase it. The Marketplace will open again in November 15.

Those who are applying for health benefits through the expanded Medicaid program can do so at anytime throughout the year.

Sarah Bush Lincoln In-Person Counselors are available from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday at Sarah Bush Lincoln to help people navigate the website and find health insurance for their families. Interested people may call for an appointment, while walk-ins are accepted.

Illinois health insurance plan rates are lower than many other states, and nearly all Illinois residents will have access to at least 34 plans. Through the Marketplace, residents can compare plans and premiums side-by-side. All plans provide coverage for the same set of essential health benefits. These health benefits include: ambulatory patient services, emergency services, hospitalization, maternity and newborn care, mental health/substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment, prescription drugs, rehabilitative/habilitative services and devices, laboratory services, preventive & wellness services and chronic disease management, and pediatric services, including oral and vision care.

For more information or an appointment, call 217 238-4994.
